Yeah, paying twelve dollars for that makes LOTS of sense.

Well, we all know the magic power of 'The Snuggie' -- who knows what faddish cult will sweep the tee-vee product spending spree next!

Oprah gets a lifetime pass for all the good she does, but man, do we ever have to pay a price for it...

Only if she promises to never have that 14 children 'miracle-octuplet-baby-spree-whilst-on-taxpayer-funded-IVF' bitch on her show. If she does, I say blow up her Chicago studio and everyone in it.

I'm with you on the taxpayer-funded baby factory hate. Especially since it's already been presented as some sort of human interest story.

I'm glad people are starting to wake up to the fact that the story is far from 'cute' and more close to horrid in terms of the mother's mental illness and her desire to breed kids simply for media and public attention; it's like the Dionne quintuplet scenario with fertility doctors and a modern creepy inverse-Munchausen edginess added in for full 21st C. effect. I feel sorry for the California taxpayers who will squander their money.

When I realized some people thought this was cute or touching, I felt the same brand of disbelief as when George Bush Jr. got elected in 2004. (As a British magazine at the time put it, "How can 59,054,087 people be so DUMB?")

Early November 2004 was not a particularly fun time for me either. I would describe the electorate then as not 'dumb' but 'afraid.'

Meaning that those who didn't vote for Bush were afraid after the election, or those who voted for Bush did so out of some kind of fear?

At any rate, I have to admit Kerry wasn't much of a competitor.

Both. I just remember New York, where I lived at the time, being eerily quiet the day after the election. It was spooky. Things were pretty dire the remainder of that autumn and into winter as people realized we were in for a long haul of craptacularness. But yes, those who voted for Bush primarily had fear on their minds, mostly over Iraq and the evil, blood-sucking, baby-eating Democrats who would turn the US into an Islamic state or something. Yeah Kerry sucked, but a potted plant would have been better than Bush, no?

I knew that bad dog would come up with something funny! I used to work with a guy who would just get two hands full of water and snort it up his nose and then spit it out. You can imagine he sound. Gross is not even remotely an adequate word.

Maybe it should be called Drano.
