This sign at Harvey's is supposed to impress me.

So let's see... they're gonna say hi, make my food, put stuff on it, and say thank you? WOW I CAN'T GET THAT AT ANY OTHER RESTAURANT!!!

Yeah, but not with such clever alliteration.

And, really, isn't that what you go to a fast-food restaurant for?

Indeed. My hunger may be satiated, but I'm not satisfied unless I also get four words starting with G.

Harveys is still my favo(u)rite fast food chain in Ontario. I have been enjoying their burgers, off and on, since 1974. Whenever I was living in Ohio and just making periodic trips to Ontario, I would try to make sure I hit Harveys at least once each trip.

Maybe not having them in your town makes them seem more special. I actually prefer McDonald's, or even better, Wendy's.

But nothing beats In-n-Out Burgers, which are unfortunately only on the west coast of the US.

When I was an undergraduate in Waterloo (in the late '70s), I preferred Harveys over the other chains. McFood is good for really fast food, but I like Harveys for the way you can easily customize the condiments the way you want them. I find Harveys burgers too greasy, but I like their chicken and salads.

We have In-N-Out burgers here in Phoenix. While they do go out easily, they do rapidly demonstrate that they're worthy of their name - tasty but greasy burgers that go in quickly, and come back out just as quickly. Their assembly-line-style cooking process is also very fast, but doesn't allow customizations (for example, just try to get a burger without mustard).

My recent favourite is Jack in the Box, with their Teriyaki Bowl (teriyaki chicken or steak over a bed of rice). It's almost like non-fast food.

Odd. I found In-n-Out to be singularly UN-fast food-like. And it never caused me digestion problems. What I don't like about Harvey's burgers is that the taste and texture are like those of factory-made burgers. In-n-Out tastes like the ones my mom used to make. And I've never had one with mustard!

I also like Fatburger.
