Some horrible special effects are deployed at the climax.

Possessed laundry pressing machine. Do you need to know anything else? Still, this manages to be very slightly less silly than the Stephen King short story it's based on. Not scary for a moment, of course, but Robert Englund turns in a tasty over-the-top horror performance. Aside from him, however, bad acting rules. The tone-deaf dialogue doesn't help either.
