Encounters at the End of the World
Dec. 20th, 2009 09:00 pm

Director Werner Herzog travels to Antarctica to document the place and its inhabitants.
The film follows its creator's curiosity, which results in a lack of focus. But his curiosity proves to be justified: the film is consistently compelling, abetted by touches of humour. Herzog is less interested in the milieu than he is in the humans it attracts.
