A man returns to the town where he grew up and begins to suspect it is getting overtaken by vampires.
Words like "ambitious", "classy", and "intelligent" don't come up often when discussing Stephen King adaptations, but they apply to this well-written mini-series. Unfortunately, the word "lifeless" (pun not intended) also applies. The screenwriter and actors gave it their all, so I blame the director for failing to create much in the way of mood or suspense. The framing story doesn't make much sense.
